Pancha Keliya

For those living in Sri Lanka, you all have heard of the traditional Sinhala new year game 'Pancha Keliya'. But maybe you might not have experienced playing it? So we thought of bringing the game to life into the PC and Xbox platforms.

We are glad to release a demo of the game on 'Victory day' (18th June 2010). So do download the game and endulge in some friendly game play. Play with a friend in 2 player mode too!!

This is a demo, so there will be restrictions in the game play. We hope to add many options in the final version including:

  • Having the game in 4 languages (Sinhala, English, Tamil, German)
  • Background music and gameplay sound
  • Leaderboard score updater (where you can rank with other 'Pancha Keliya' players)
  • Gameplay mouse controls

What is 'Pancha Keliya'?

For those unaware, it is a game where you throw 6 seashells onto a coconut husk. Points are scored in the following manner.

  • 0 points if all the sea shells fall upwards
  • 12 points if all the sea shells fall downwards
  • Points according to number of sea shells falling upwards (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5)

If the player gets either 1,5 or 12 points, he/she is given another opportunity to throw sea shells.

Thats enough information for you, go get the free demo and get full instructions on how you can master the art of 'Pancha Keliya'.

Video of the game

Check this video and see the game in action. Happy with what you see? Then click on the download button on the left hand side. Feel free to send us your thoughts on the game. Let us know if you face any problems trying out this demo, we want to hear from you so that we can give a bugfree final version with all features mentioned above.

Troubleshoot

You downloaded the installation file (msi) but your machine gives an error? Remember that even if you have the XNA framework, you need to download and install 'Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1'. Also ensure you have 'Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5'. If you have both and it still gives errors, then drop us a line here or send us a friendly email to info@gtslk.com
